This year, we received applications from France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela, Chile, Argentina, and Mexico — a beautiful reminder of how far Portillo’s musical community now reaches.

We’re currently reviewing all applications with care and gratitude.
And something that fills us with joy: 48% of this year’s applicants for the Assistant Conductor role were women.
As we recently finished the 4th edition of our HUB for Women Conductors, it’s gratifying to see such a shift in numbers — with so many women stepping forward to lead.
